# Connect Prototyper to this coding agent

Use this guide only when the user has asked you to connect or configure Prototyper.

## Goal

Add a remote MCP server named `prototyper` using this endpoint:

```text
https://www.prototyper.co/api/mcp
```

## Setup

1. Detect which supported coding agent you are running in.
2. Use the matching setup below. Preserve every existing MCP server and setting.
3. If browser authorization opens, pause and ask the user to approve it. Never request, enter, or expose their credentials.
4. Verify the server is available, then tell the user that Prototyper is ready.

### Codex

Run:

```sh
codex mcp add prototyper --url https://www.prototyper.co/api/mcp
```

Then run `codex mcp list` and confirm that `prototyper` is present.

### Claude Code

Run:

```sh
claude mcp add --transport http prototyper https://www.prototyper.co/api/mcp
```

Then run `claude mcp list` and confirm that `prototyper` is present.

### Cursor

Merge this server into the user's existing MCP configuration. Do not replace the whole file:

```json
{
  "mcpServers": {
    "prototyper": {
      "url": "https://www.prototyper.co/api/mcp"
    }
  }
}
```

Ask the user to reload Cursor if the server does not appear immediately.

## Finish

After authorization, use the client's MCP server list or tool picker to confirm that Prototyper tools are available. If setup fails, report the exact command and error without retrying destructive configuration changes.
